rainy day in new york

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

i spent a good portion of the day knitting inside at gregg & ian’s while they were at work.  (shut up i had cramps …and was out drinking TEQUILA [tecastrophy] until 6am the night before with keith and steve and randoms we made friends with in our drunken stupor.)

then, dana power YAY! and i went to pomodoro on the upper west before we headed down to black fat pussy cat on w. 3rd where steve is the dj.  we had a blast and even though it was raining, we walked all the way home - dana to 24th & 9th, and i to 70th & amsterdam/b’way.

we’re rock stars.

here’s a photo i found on the innernets randomly (i didn’t shoot it) to describe the lovely feeling of rain (because we never get any in LA) and how you don’t have to plan your outfit around it - obviously!

damn the TSA

Sunday, October 5th, 2008

i just unpacked the bags from our denmark trip and found a note from the tsa saying they had to open and inspect our stuff. at the end of unpacking, i ended up with ONLY ONE SHOE. i just bought these comfy brown suede nike’s. they’re perfect for tooling around town and i wore them maybe 3 times while in copenhagen. now, if i want to wear them, i’ll have to wait until my one foot is in a cast or something. DAMN.

probably not a good idea

evan roth created these metal plates to place in your hand luggage. since the TSA people always love a good joke, i advise you to try this out - but be sure you arrive extra early for your flight.

holy crop top

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

doncha hate when you sit next to the most annoying people on long-haul flights? yes, i am talking about me. you should all stay away from me. DO NOT SIT NEXT TO ME. i am annoying.

actually, i hope people listen so i can have 2 seats to myself from now on.

i sat next to this guy recently

and his outfit was not even the worst thing about him. when he wasn’t snoring (70% of the trip) he was hacking up his left lung. you could literally see it convulse under his crop top.

gah

it follows me everywhere!

once again. i hate cilantro. it takes like soap. it is a foul disgusting trick to play on my taste buds and i don’t appreciate it - especially when i have no other options!

wine tasting in amador county - northern california

Saturday, July 26th, 2008

wine country is one of the few places in california that still has rolling green hills.  the rest of the countryside is brown and gold due to the current drought.  last week, we went wine tasting in amador county which is near sacramento.  we went to many vineyards but wilderotter and renwood were our favorites.

at wilderotter, naomi let us taste all their currently available wines and we fell in love with the 2007 sauvignon blanc. we didn’t get to meet the owner, jay, who was out of town but we are big fans of his chocolate lab, snickers!

at renwood, sean let us taste anything we could get our hands on and my dad became a member of their wine club.  i especially liked their 2004 jack rabbit flat zinfandel, their 2005 fiddletown zinfandel and their 2006 orange muscat.  yum.  my dad even got brad a magnum of the 2005 old vine zinfandel.

looks like brad and i will be drunk for awhile.  stop by and help us drink it all up!
