wine tasting in amador county - northern california

wine country is one of the few places in california that still has rolling green hills.  the rest of the countryside is brown and gold due to the current drought.  last week, we went wine tasting in amador county which is near sacramento.  we went to many vineyards but wilderotter and renwood were our favorites.

at wilderotter, naomi let us taste all their currently available wines and we fell in love with the 2007 sauvignon blanc. we didn’t get to meet the owner, jay, who was out of town but we are big fans of his chocolate lab, snickers!

at renwood, sean let us taste anything we could get our hands on and my dad became a member of their wine club.  i especially liked their 2004 jack rabbit flat zinfandel, their 2005 fiddletown zinfandel and their 2006 orange muscat.  yum.  my dad even got brad a magnum of the 2005 old vine zinfandel.

looks like brad and i will be drunk for awhile.  stop by and help us drink it all up!
