Tonsilectomy at 28
Wednesday, June 21st, 2006Jacob had his tonsils removed yesterday morning while I ran his callbacks for him. I got a phone call around 10:30 and the front desk announced the call, which they rarely do. “It’s Jacob!” So I ran to the phone thinking something was wrong.
When we were connected, he just had some last minute things he wanted to tell me, like don’t forget this and that and this and that and blah blah blah and most importantly, “Be nice to the clients. Whatever they want, tell them it’s not a problem. Don’t be mean!” Hahaha. When am I ever mean?! Haha.
Then, he said, “Oh, and Michael Jackson is coming in at 2:00.”
I thought to myself, “Huh? What in the hell are you talking about?!” Then I realized that he must be gassed or something since it was right around the time he was supposed to go under the knife, so I just said, “No problem Jacob. We’ll just audition him like anyone else.”
When I got to his house in the evening after the clients left, I told him about the Michael Jackson thing. He didn’t remember that he had even called me.
Apparently getting the anesthesiology is a hoot and we should all try it.
