NEWLOVE

i’ve decided to move to paris, purchased a one-way ticket and am fielding all sorts of questions.  the most common one is “what about brad?!”  no need to worry, kiddies, brad is good.  we are good.  but reminder - brad is an actor and brad does not speak french.  so brad will be staying in LA and will hopefully remember to water my plants.

lots of other questions are thrown at me like, where will i live, what will i do, have i found a job, am i crazy, etc.

i have a place to live and i will look for something fun to do with my time.  we’ll see what the fates have in store…

but on to the more important stuff, the questions that i can’t believe no one is asking…

what about all my stuff??

well, i will take some clothes with me and on subsequent trips back to LA or when brad comes to visit, i’m sure there will be more transport of stuff but all i keep thinking about is that i’m going to have to somehow get it BACK to cali when i’m done in paris.  (when will that be?  i don’t know.  6 months?  2 years?  on verra bien, mes amis… )

even though it was super hazy due to all the forest fires, we did not cancel our brunch plans.  YAY!!  we started out at starbucks and were tortured by jule’s horrible morning involving locksmiths and canceled massages.  but then alex and i headed over to the waffle and chowed down!

it was so hazy, you could hardly see the hollywood sign from sunset blvd!

i was even so motivated that i went to tangiers afterwards to hear a former client slash dear friend india dupre perform!

teensy and i spent the entire, and i do mean entire, day at birds.  yunmi and jenny joined us eventually and OMG i can’t even describe to you how hot it was - a hundred million bajillion degrees today in los angeles.  jenny finally quit the firm YAY! and is glad to be rid of “boogers” who she swears masturbates to her in private.  and teensy and bård have finally moved in together.  wow!

brad took us all to a semyon kobialka cello concert that night.  he showed up with a harem that impressed even semyon (kim-minh even joined us!)  unfortunately, semyon’s wife was a little less than thrilled.
afterwards, we were supposed to go play cranium THE BEST. BOARDGAME. EVER! at kim-minh’s but everyone wimped out since we have to go wine tasting for christopher’s 30th tomorrow and the bus leaves at 8am or something ungodly.

ivy and i went to some crazy mexican joint afterwards and closed it down!  ok, so it was montrose and things close there at 10pm, but whatever …we are total badasses!

now that i’m moving to paris, i’m obsessed with all things rain…

not only do i really need to get some galoshes, but i need umbrellas galore!

christmas (and my birthday) are coming up and i find myself completing online wish lists.  why?  do i send them out?  does anyone look at them?  are christmas poo-pooers allowed to make lists??

i used to get into the spirit and decorate my office, my home, etc. -i even got into a huge fight with a boyfriend i was living with about getting a christmas tree one year.  i wanted one.  badly.  he did not.  i guess he had one burn down one year because he and his roommates let it dry out and the lights caught the needles on fire.  so as a *compromise* he bought me one of those little wooden christmas trees you see in toy train sets.  he strung a full set of normal sized christmas tree lights on it and put it in a full sized christmas tree base (the thing you put the water in.)  he put a full-sized skirt around the tree stand and put all the presents “under” the tree.  it was funny, so i let the issue go, but that started my christmas spirit fizzle.

now i finish my christmas shopping by latest september so i don’t have to fight the crowds in the parking lots and stores.  i march out of stores as quickly as possible if they are playing the nutcracker (unless it’s from the snow scene - but no stores every play that… it’s always the freeking sugar plum fairy or waltz of the flowers.)  i groan if any christmas music is playing… especially here comes santa claus, we wish you a merry christmas, frosty the snowman or jingle bells. i don’t decorate ANYTHING.  i don’t wear christmas themed clothes (kill me.)

but i still make christmas/birthday lists for no reason.
